On an almost daily basis there are many conflicting articles about heat
pumps in the newspapers and on social media.
Our aim is to present you with the most accurate information for your consideration, so whatever decision you make, it's the right decision for you.

The reasons why you’ll see so many conflicting reports about heat pumps are pre-sales advice, the products that were installed, and the quality of the system design & installation.
A customer who was poorly advised before purchase, and then was offered products that were less than ideal for their needs, and later those products were not installed particularly well, it’s hardly surprising that the customer might be very disappointed with their purchase.
If, on the other hand, a customer was advised correctly, was recommended the right products for their needs, the system was designed properly and fitted to a high standard, then this customer is highly likely to be delighted with their new heat pump system.
Clearly, it is better to be advised by an experienced heating engineer who is an expert in renewable heating technology, rather than being advised by a salesperson who was selling double glazing or life insurance until quite recently!
Expertise

Heat Pumps Made Easy was established by Mick Fletcher, a heating engineer with almost 40 years of experience. During that time, Mick has installed and overseen installations of every kind of heating systems, all over the British mainland and Scottish Islands. Qualified to install gas, oil and renewable systems, Mick is also an expert at diagnostics and fault finding on every type of boiler. So much so, that often he’ll have engineers from other companies phone him when they are on a breakdown call-out and are stumped.
During Mick’s nigh on 40 years in the industry he has often contacted to other companies. During such contracts he experienced situations where the customer had been very poorly advised by a sales person, and was now expecting Mick and his engineering team to turn lemonade into Champagne.
Prior to us providing you with any advice, product recommendations or a quotation, an engineer will visit your home to carry out a brief survey. The purpose of this survey is for us to establish if a heat pump would be suitable for you, and if your property would be likely to qualify for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, which is currently £7,500.
As a result of this survey we'll be back in touch to either tell you we don't think it is something you should consider, or to ask your permission to prepare and email to you a detailed specification and quote.
The impact of the very latest technology

In simple terms, this technology has come a very long way in recent years. As recently as five years ago, the best and most efficient heat pumps on the market were no cheaper to run than a decent, modern gas central heating system.
All that has changed. They are quieter when running, generate far more heat per Kw of electricity than before and are now a very worthwhile investment, rather than the previous high expense, poor return product of a few years ago. The huge rises in energy costs in the last couple of years have also altered the economics of heat pump feasibility.
We don’t intend to swamp you with technical talk about COP values and such like, well, at least not unless you want us to! We’ll happily offer you a free site survey and recommendations by a first rate heating engineer.
If a heat pump would be beneficial to you, we’ll happily answer any questions in plain language, not technical gobbledygook!
Then we’ll email you a written proposal and recommendations, leaving you to decide in your own time.
Nowadays, the numbers actually add up

Just a few years ago, typical heat pumps generated 3 units (kWh) of heating / hot water for each 1 unit (kWh) of electricity they used. At that same time, a unit of electricity cost 3 times the price of a unit of natural gas. In simple terms, the cost of heating any home was exactly the same, whether a heat pump was used or a gas boiler system.
As we mentioned above, this technology has made huge strides in very recent years. All of the heat pumps we offer now generate 4.7 units of heating / hot water for each 1 unit if electricity. This means that heating your home with a heat pump is now 36% less expensive than using even the most modern, efficient gas boiler.
Heat pumps have gone from being an expensive gimmick to becoming a sound investment. A 3 bedroom home with 8 radiators can have lashings of hot water and maintain an indoor temperature of 21 degrees Celsius for as little as 40p per hour!
Customers who have solar electric panels on their roof can actually negate their heating costs completely during the daytime, even in winter!
Of course, not every home is ideally suited to the addition of a heat pump. Things like existing insulation, double glazing, heat losses, size of exiting radiators all play a significant part in the financial benefits of an installation.
It is for this reason that we offer a free initial survey, carried out by an engineer, NOT a salesperson.
If we have established that a heat pump is right for your home, we will carry out full heat loss calculations to establish exactly which model of heat pump is best for you, and if any existing radiators and pipework need to be upgraded to larger sizes.
We’ll then furnish you with a detailed written quotation for your consideration. Your quotation will include any measures we feel we should recommend to offer the most efficient running of your system, with the lowest possible running costs.
All of our installations come with an insurance-backed warranty for your peace of mind.
What if I want to proceed?

We’ll ensure that we design you the system most suitable for your property and your heating needs.
Most importantly, we will deal with all of the paperwork for the funding you are entitled to. At the moment, absolutely anyone installing a heat pump is automatically entitled to a £7,500 grant towards the cost. This grant is available to almost everyone, even multi-millionaires.
As well as applying for the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant on your behalf, we'll also assist with all other relevant documentation.
